Women who responded to The Irish Times sex survey were more likely to identify as bisexual rather than lesbian, while the converse applied to male respondents. A striking finding of The Irish Times sex survey is that same-sex attraction among heterosexual women is far higher than previously thought, with 45 per cent of to year-old heterosexual women — nearly half — having been attracted to another woman. Thirty-five per cent of to year-old heterosexual women and 24 per cent of women between 50 and 64 also indicated that they had experienced same-sex attraction. Yet 88 per cent of women respondents identified themselves as heterosexual. Women are also more likely to identify as bisexual rather than lesbian, while the converse applies to men. So the people who enjoy sex most are lesbians 68 per cent and heterosexual men 69 per cent , followed by bisexual men and women 61 and 58 per cent respectively , and homosexual males 54 per cent and heterosexual females 49 per cent.

This chapter will explore the sexual behaviors of lesbians. Included in this chapter is an introduction of the sexual response cycle and the Frequency vs. Satisfaction Survey results for the following: the rate of masturbation, the frequency and quantity of orgasms, the time spent engaged in sexual encounters between women, and the specific sexual behaviors in which lesbians most commonly engage. Lastly, this chapter will take a more detailed look at lesbians who are engaging in sex outside of their relationship. You can have sex to orgasm, or not to orgasm, genital sex, or just physical intimacy—whatever seems right to you. The one thing sexual activity has in common, regardless of the gender of participants or the sexual behaviors of choice, is the physiological reaction to effective sexual stimulation.
Sexual Behaviors of Lesbians
Having oral sex with another woman is one of the great things about being a lesbian. Oral sex can seem intimidating for first-timers, but it's a skill that you can work on and improve over time. Regardless, no two women are the same—and each might like something a little different than the other. One of the most exciting things about being with a new partner can be getting that first glimpse of her pubic region.
