All rights reserved. In this tutorial, Andrew Devis shows how easy it is to create, add materials to, animate and lip-sync a head in Autodesk 3ds max using the plug-ins from Di-O-Matic called 'Facial Studio' and 'Voice-O-Matic'. Andrew goes through the basics of this plug-in just to show how easy and quick it is to use and how powerful it can be - not to mention just how much time it can save you! In fact, I seldom cover plug-ins because I know that not many people can afford them but at times it seems right to give a little coverage to a product that can save a lot of time and money. That said, don't give up on the COW as there are lots of great tuts which don't use any plug-ins and you can just skip those that do. All the best with your work. For those of us who are struggling to keep up, struggling to earn a few pennies on the dollars, this is insulting.

I have been looking into on a particular way on how to rig a head for Facial movement and animation motion capture primarily using the Bones system. I have decent knowledge on how to use and do basic rigging in 3ds max, but I was hoping to do something very much like this:. I have seen this and exact rigging systems been done for Maya, Blender and Softimage but Never for 3ds max, no-one seems to have done this exact kind of rigging for the software.
